Sledding at Lake Harbor Park

The day after Christmas we got quite a bit of snow which was nice compared to all the rain and ice we got on Christmas day! The girls went sledding on their new sleds with Daddy, Aunt Missy, Uncle Allen, and Grandma McFarland to Lake Harbor Park. They had so much fun and plan on going back quite often this winter!! While they were there, the girls ran into their good friends Brayton and Cullen so they got to enjoy some sledding time with them also=)

We spent Christmas morning as a family opening gifts from Santa and each other and celebrating the birth of Jesus. It was so fun to watch the girls faces as they opened their gifts=) The only thing they really asked Santa for was a Barbie dollhouse and of course Santa delivered! Ali's quote, "This is the best day ever!!" Later on in the afternoon, Grandma and Grandpa McFarland and Aunt Missy and Uncle Allen came over to celebrate Christmas with us and stayed the weekend.

Christmas Eve

We always try to get a few pictures of the girls in front of the tree on Christmas Eve before the craziness of Christmas morning. We went to Christmas Eve mass that night with the girls all dressed up in their Christmas dresses and it was a beautiful service. Katie actually sat through the entire mass for the first time EVER!! She seemed to love the choir and was singing along with them, even when they weren't singing=) We then came home and left an oatmeal and glitter mix outside for the reindeer to find their way to our house and of course left cookies and milk out for Santa. Ali kept thinking she heard Santa so she kept running to the window to see if he was at our house yet=) They both hurried to bed and fell asleep quick which was great because Mike and I still had a lot to do to get ready for Christmas morning!!!

Baking Cookies

Baking cookies with the girls at this age can be both fun and stressful!!! They absolutely love to help but sometimes it's overwhelming=) It is great to see their faces as they get to help mommy with cookies, especially since they know it's for Santa!!

Mona Shores Homecoming Parade 2009

Ali was given the SMORE achievement award for the month of September. Ali's reward was to ride on the Campbell Elementary Homecoming float. Basically, Campbell has a school philosophy called "CAMP Campbell" and CAMP stands for: Character counts: Doing what is right even when noone is looking, Accepting Diversity: Showing acceptance of different learners and people, Manners: Being kind to others with words and actions, and Pride: Doing something to make our team better. Ali was nominated by her teacher for her DK class and there were 13 other students in the school in different grades that received the same award. So, their float was called "CAMP CAMPBELL" and they got to pretend to roast smores (hence the SMORE award)and sit around the campfire and tent. It was a really cool float! Mom and Dad are very proud of Ali and so happy to see that she is enjoying school=)

Soccer

It has been so fun to watch Ali finally understand how to play soccer this season. The last two seasons she only had 2 goals total and really wasn't quite sure what to do when on the field. This season she has gotten around 10 goals in the last two games, has some ball control and knows how to defend her goal. She is having so much fun this season and loves playing soccer with her friends.
