Michigan Adventure

It's so great that Michigan Adventure is right here in Muskegon! I've gone before on a 7th grade field trip but really didn't do much but supervise. Finally this time, Ali and Kate were old enough to take them. We spent about 6 hours there and managed to split time between the waterpark and the amusement park. Kate could go on all the rides as long as Mike or I went with her. The girls LOVED the Frog Hopper, the bumper cars, the log water ride and the little roller coasters. The waterpark was awesome! We could have spent the entire day just at the waterpark. Ali actually went on some bigger water rides with Mike and loved them. They also added a kids beach party section which was just as much fun=) Mike and I are thinking season passes definitely as a Christmas gift either this year or next!

Detroit Tigers Game

We went to a Detroit Tigers vs. Chicago White Sox game on a Sunday with Ali, Kate, Uncle Marc, Aunt Missy and Uncle Allen. Sunday's are Family Days at Comerica Park so they had free facepainting, free carousel and ferris wheel rides and the kids can run the bases after the game. So, in the 95 degree heat we sat in the sun in the upper deck but it was a really good view of the ballpark from our seats....it was just HOT!! Katie had gotten sick the night before and we were worried she wouldn't make it the whole game especially in that heat but she was a trooper! We kept taking breaks and went to sit in the shade and grab something to drink or eat. With all the getting up and walking around we actually were lucky enough to be sitting and watching at the best part of the game where the Tigers came back from being down 3-0 and took the lead 3-4. We had to go in line during the 8th inning for the girls to be able to run the bases so we watched the rest of the game on the TV's and the Tigers held onto their lead and won the game...very exciting and fun!! We all got to go on the field and watch the girls run the bases which was so cool! We agreed that we have to do this every year, it was a lot of fun. Ali and Kate ended up staying the rest of the week with grandma and grandpa and had a blast. Mike and I brought Lauren home and were able to spend some one on one time with her during the week which was great. It brought us back to when we only had Ali and remembering what it was like with just one kid=)

Swim Lessons

Another year of swim lessons are in the books! Ali did great this year and has passed onto level 5 for next summer! Very happy with how far she has come and how much stronger of a swimmer she is=) Kate started her first summer of swim lessons and passed level 1 so onto level 2 for next year! She has never had a fear of water so we knew she would enjoy taking lessons=)

July 4th Weekend

We started our 4th of July weekend up north in Alanson for Grandpa Kline's 90th birthday. Very nice weekend with family=) Fourth of July day was pretty laid back. We went to the parade in Ferrysburg with the Wahlberg's and then Ali stayed at Emma's house all afternoon for a playdate. Later in the evening, sparklers and going to downtown Muskegon to watch the fireworks, which was an amazing show!!

Hoffmaster Camping

For two weeks back to back in June we made two separate trips to Hoffmaster for camping. Our first trip was with the Wahlberg family and unfortunately a little rainy!! We definitely broke our new camper in and spent a lot of time inside the camper=) We had a great time and we are looking forward to camping with them again in July! Our second trip was with the Cooper and Shaffer families and the weather was beautiful. We spent the entire day on Wednesday at the beach and the kids and adults loved every minute of it. The Conrads and Brainards joined us for dinner and smores one night. Love camping with these families and can't wait until we camp at White River in August with them=)
